A Lincoln County man is arrested for allegedly attempting two home invasions in the same night.
West Virginia State Police say the first incident happened around 7pm Monday at a home on Bear Fork Road in Yawkey. That's where 30-year old Michael Keith Miller allegedly tried to break in the home of 22-year old Stephanie Pauley. Pauley shot at Miller with a handgun after he threatened to rape her while attempting to kick in the front door.
From there, troopers say Miller took off on foot and showed up at 50-year old Douglas Mahone's home. Miller punched the sliding glass door, but didn't make it inside, and took off again.
State Police arrested Miller a short distance away from the Mahone residence. Troopers say small children were inside both of those homes. Miller faces a long list of charges including attempted burglary and assault.
He was taken to Western Regional Jail and will be arraigned in Lincoln County Court.
