A super sized CVS is coming Kenova. The fear for many people is that it could affect a long-standing Mom and Pop drug store.
The CVS is already under construction along Rt. 60 in Kenova across from the old Kenova Elementary School. The new store will offer everything from prescription medication, groceries and clothing to beer, liquor and other drug store items.
A couple blocks away is Griffith and Feil Drug Store, which has been in town for 120 years. The drug store offers a soda fountain shop and free delivery service for folkks who need prescriptions.
Owner and Kenova Mayor Ric Griffith says, "As the Mayor, I welcome it. As a resident, I want it. But, as a business person we'll suffer to keep customers."
The new CVS is scheduled to open the next few months.
