A local woman and her dog made their television debut on the ABC morning show The View Friday. Hope Johnson from Charleston was on with her four legged friend Gracie.
10-year old Gracie was one of five mixed breeds nationwide picked by show producers to appear on the nationally syndicated show with Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters.
The purpose of the show is to call attention to mutts and shelter dogs. Some people think Gracie is a wild animal but she is actually mix between a shelter and pomeranian.
The View broadcasts its annual "Mutt Show" when the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show takes place in New York City featuring the creme de la creme of purebred dogs.
