Federal prosecutors want the former chief of security for Massey Energy to spend the next 25 years in prison.
Hugie Stover was convicted of lying to investigators after the worst mine disaster in four decades.
29 men died in the Upper Big Branch explosion.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says Stover deserves the maximum possible sentence because Stover's actions contributed to the disaster.
Stover's defense attorney says Stover doesn't deserve any jail time and should be placed on home confinement.
