A sex abuse investigation in Charleston leads officers to Missouri.
Officers caught up with Jack Edwin Gravenmier, 23, at a St. Louis hotel on Saturday.
According to a criminal complaint, Gravenmier allegedly sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in Georgia during the summer of 2011.
An investigation determined that he was planning to travel to the St. Louis area to engage in more sexual contact with the victim.
Gravenmier also allegedly sent four sexually explicit images to the victim. The suspect also claimed he had images of child pornography at his home in Charleston, including images of himself engaging in sexual acts with an underage male.
The arrest comes as a result of a joint investigation involving the West Virginia Cyber Crimes Task Force. The local Task Force is comprised of officers from the Charleston and Nitro Police Departments, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, and the FBI.
Anyone with more information regarding Gravenmier is urged to call the FBI at 304-346-3232.
