Grayson , Carter County , Kentucky

A new system being implemented in Carter County, Kentucky can automatically link emergency responders into a live surveillance feed during an emergency.

It's called Police Watch. The Louisville-based company designed the program about four years ago, and recently launched it to the public. It's designed to save time and possible complications during an emergency like and armed robbery.

As soon as a panic button at a business, school, bank, even a home is activated, either manually or tripped by a remote alarm for a break-in, that city or county's 911 system in instantaneously tied in to the surveillance system.

Company president and CEO Tim Sparks tells us the facial recognition software can capture valuable details about potential suspects, weapons, or vehicles involved- all crucial information for law enforcement before they even get on scene.

It's something a couple Carter County schools were interested in, and approached Carter County emergency director Tommy Thompson about recently.

Sparks tells us, "When that happens, that's the only time dispatch can look at that business. Dispatch can't just come in like Big Brother and see what's going on in that business. The only time that happens is when there's something bad going down."

All the emergency Centers need in a T.V. monitor and internet service. There are no monitoring fees and the company will even work with the systems you already have in place.

They're getting ready to launch nationwide, so you could see it in your area pretty soon! If you're interested in finding out more about linking your business in Carter County, you can call 606-474-9827.
