A fire that killed a Vinton County, Ohio man has been ruled arson.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal says it happened in the early morning of February 8th, 2012 at a home located along U.S. Highway 50 near McArthur. 59-year old Thomas Hagerty died in that fire; his death has been ruled a homicide.
Details of the fire are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
Investigators say they have learned that a car was seen in the area shortly before the fire. It is described as a dark color, mid-size car with three brake lights – one in the rear window and one that wraps around on each rear quarter panel.
A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information about the person or persons responsible for the fire.

One man died in a house fire in Vinton County, Ohio early Wednesday morning.
The State Fire Marshal's Office says it happened just before 6am along U.S. Highway 50 in the McArthur area.
We're told the body of a man who lived there has been taken to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.
Investigators say the home is a total loss and there is no evidence of smoke alarms inside the residence.
