It's another step in West Virginia University's journey to the Big 12.
Although there is plenty of legal wrangling that will take place between now and kickoff next season, the Big 12's interim commissioner says WVU is on the conference's football schedule.
In an interview with a Charleston newspaper, Chuck Neinas says plans are for the Mountaineers to compete in the conference next season. Neinas says he's been assured by WVU officials the school will be a part of the Big 12 next fall and that the conference schedule will reflect that when it is released on February 1st.
Right now, WVU is involved in several lawsuits with the Big East for leaving the conference. The Big East wants West Virginia to observe a 27-month waiting period before leaving.
