MURDER SUICIDE INVESTIGATION Possible Murder Suspect Commits Suicide While Deputies Try To Serve Search Warrant

Kanawha County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating after an apparent murder suspect committed suicide while trying to execute a search warrant.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday on Barron Drive. The apartment is located just next to the West Virginia State University Campus.
Chief Deputy John Rutherford says the department got a call about a possible murder that had taken place in Institute earlier in the day. Then they got a tip on a possible suspect.
They got a search warrant and went to the suspect's apartment on Barron Drive.
Deputies say they knocked on the door several times, and nobody answered. That's when they say then heard a muffled gunshot from inside.
When they went inside they found the body of the suspect with a gunshot wound to the head
The man's name has not been released. Deputies are also not releasing any information about the possible homicide he was a suspect in.
Detectives are expected to be on scene late into the night. Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Plants was also on scene.

Deputies are on the scene of a shooting in Institute.
It happened at an apartment building on Barron Drive, right across from West Virginia State College around 8:30 p.m.
