FedEx Ground and Home Delivery are currently located in two separate buildings in Scott Depot.
They will soon be under one roof in Cross Lanes on J.W. Drive. The six million dollar expansion includes a 57,000 square foot facility located near Nitro Market Place.
The site is a work in progress with construction set to start in early spring with a completion date set for fall at the latest.
FedEx says they don't know exactly how many jobs will be added but they're certain the expansion will require additional help.
“We will retain everybody that's here but there will probably be new jobs created,” said FedEx Manager Linda Hamilton, “It will depend on the volume but we will have to have new help.”
“We've had a great deal of success stories with new businesses either expanding or coming to WV and once again this creates jobs,” said Governor Earl Ray Tomblin.
