Charleston , Kanawha County , West Virginia

Good news on the job front, when it comes to construction jobs. Charleston is adding new construction jobs faster than most other metro area.

The Associated General Contractors of America announced the local industry grew by 15% since July of last year.

They say the main reason for the boost is public-sector investments, like new schools, interstate bridges, upgrades at the airport and sewer projects.

But the Association warns, the industry is still fragile and if public sector projects are cut, it would put many local construction jobs at risk.
