A Kanawha City mom is outraged after a bus driver dropped her five-year-old son off at the wrong stop, and in the middle of a busy intersection on Maccorkle avenue.

Amanda Reveal's five-year-old son has been riding the school bus to daycare for about a month now, but Tuesday afternoon the usual ride home was anything but. Instead of getting off at the normal stop, the young boy was let off at the busy intersection of Maccorckle Avenue and 66th Street.

Reveal says, "The bus driver just let him off there instead of taking him back to the daycare or to the school like they're supposed to."

When the boy got off the bus, he started headed to his home on Roosevelt Avenue about a block and a half away. When he got there, he knocked on the door and kept knocking, but no one was home.

A neighbor happened to be home that afternoon and stepped in to help, but Reveal says the damage was already done.

"Once he got off and my neighbor found him, he was screaming and he was sweaty, and he's traumatized over it. I'm traumatized, too. I mean this is my baby and anything could have happened to him. He could have been hit by a car, he could have been raped, he could have been killed," she said.

The mom met with reps from the school board's transportation department at Chamberlain Elementary this morning, to try to get the issue resolved. She says she wants the bus driver fired.

The transportation department head is out of town until next week, and no one could comment on the incident. However, they do say they are looking into it.
