The final wrinkles are being ironed out as Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center readies its new poker room under the watchful eye of the West Virginia Lottery.
From the transportation of chips to video surveillance, every detail is being checked.
This night has been months in the making and even with the most careful planning and preparation, the track's general manager says he's been taking care of last-minute snags.
Games here Texas Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi-Lo and Seven Card Stud. Even as the charities benefit from the opening nights, players have the chance to win some real money.
Now that poker is here, Tri-State is turning its attention to blackjack, craps and roulette. It's expected those games will make their debut with charity nights tentatively set for September 29th and 30th.
Here is what is coming up this week at Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center.
Tuesday night, the March Of Dimes will benefit from the second poker charity night.
Wednesday, the track will meet with with lottery security to review procedures and fix any problems that might arise.
Thursday night is a soft opening to the public, with the regular opening hours starting on Friday morning
