Chiartas and Freeman Attorneys at Law are looking at filing a class action suit against West Virginia University, saying the recent Heather Bresch degree scandal has diminished the value of a university degree.
A lot of focus has been placed on WVU since a panel discovered Governor Joe Manchin's daughter, Heather Bresch, received a degree from WVU that she did not earn. Yet, some say this incident was more than likely a one time act of political favoritism.
The suit is still in it's infancy, and a lot must be done before it would be filed. The lawyers say they have to see if it is valuable and determine damages. Chiartas says if they do file a suit, and win, then they will give that money to the West Virginia University Foundation.
