Last Update on 11-04-2009 at 06:19:11from Eyewitness News Online Oscar Hosts - Steve Martin And Alec Baldwin BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. "Saturday Night Live's" two most frequent guests will host the Oscars together. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are teaming-up for jokes: dry, silly and in-between for the next Oscars, March 7. This will be Baldwin's first time as host of the Oscars and Martin's third. Both Baldwin and Martin know what it's like to be in the audience of an awards show, waiting to hear if they've won. Baldwin has two Emmys for "30 Rock," plus nominations for a Tony and for an Oscar. Martin has an Emmy for writing, along with several nominations. He's won two Grammys for comedy and another for playing the banjo on an Earl Scruggs album.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. It's unusual to have more than one person hosting the Oscars show. But, it's been done before. If you go way back to the first Oscars in 1929, Douglas Fairbanks and William DeMille hosted together. At the time, they were the president and vice president of the motion picture academy. The last time there was more than a single host was in 1987 when Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn and Paul Hogan worked the room together. Coming up on March 7, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will be the Oscar tag-team, bouncing jokes back and forth. "Dancing With The Stars" - Michael, Mark Are Gone LOS ANGELES NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin scored touchdowns, but he didn't score with the viewers. Last night, the former Dallas Cowboys receiver was voted off "Dancing with the Stars." "Iron Chef America" host Mark Dacascos also is going home. He was in the bottom three and had to face singer Aaron Carter in a live dance-off. While the judges praised both celebs for their ability and improvement on the dance floor, they were unanimous in the decision for Carter to remain. Dacascos says being on the show is "much harder" than it looks on TV. Kathy Griffin - Celebrity Dance Series UNDATED ABC has come up with another dance show. On her Web site Kathy Griffin confirms she'll be hosting "Let's Dance." It's a reality series where she says "celebrities re-enact famous dance routines." It premieres Monday, November 23 right after "Dancing With the Stars." Griffin says so far, 5 episodes have been ordered. Kirstie Alley - Reality Series CHICAGO Kirstie Alley is coming back to TV. She tells Oprah Winfrey she's getting her own reality series on A & E. Alley is she's still trying to drop weight. The series will be about her life as a single mom with a teenage boy and girl and about losing weight. The series doesn't have a title yet. It'll premiere sometime next year. Alleged Celebrity Burglars - The Loot LOS ANGELES A handgun registered to Brian Austin Green has been found in the house of the one of the people accused of burglarizing homes of celebrities in the Los Angeles hills. Search warrant records also show dozens of diamond rings, high-end shoes and purses have been seized from the homes of three people suspected of of being part of a burglary ring. Over the past few months, homes of Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Ashley Tisdale, Rachel Bilson, Audrina Patridge and the home shared by Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox were broken into. Freddie Highmore Gets His License LOS ANGELES He's not the little boy from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" anymore. Freddie Highmore is 17 and recently got his driver's license. He wasn't perfect on his test, though. Highmore says he got three "minor errors." Fifteen minor errors and you fail. Highmore says one of the things he did wrong was an "inappropriate use of the horn." He says he's actually "quite proud" of that one. Highmore is the voice of "Astro Boy." Tamara Tunie - Dead Bodies Remind Her Of Home WASHINGTON It doesn't gross out Tamara Tunie to examine the bodies on "Law and Order: SVU." In fact, it makes her feel at home. Tunie grew up in a funeral home that was run by her father, so she says she's not "uncomfortable" around dead bodies. She remembers walking into the room where her father was preparing a body for burial and never found any of that "disturbing," though says "it might be startling to someone else." Law and Order: SVU airs tonight. TV Ratings NEW YORK Fox is a power hitter when it comes to TV ratings. It's because of the World Series, of course. Game 4 was the most-watched program in prime time last week, followed by Games 1 and 2 and the pre-game show for Game 4. CBS comes in second for the week, followed by ABC and NBC. Here are last week's top-10 TV shows: World Series Game 4 on Sunday, Game 1 on Wednesday, Game 2 on Thursday, the pre-game for Game 4 on Sunday, and then other shows: "Dancing With the Stars," "NCIS," Sports overtime on Fox, "The Mentalist," Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday and "CSI."
