Along with a few others, Swift will be profiled in an NBC special on Thanksgiving night called "People of the Year." Matt Lauer does the interviews. Also on the special are Susan Boyle, Kobe Bryant, Octomom Nadya Suleman, the captain who landed his plane in the Hudson River and the captain of that freighter that was attacked by Somali pirates last spring and held hostage.
Country Music World On Saturday, Keith Urban can yell into his microphone: "Hello, Pasadena." He'll be giving another free acoustic concert. This one is in the parking lot of a Verizon Wireless store in Pasadena, near Los Angeles. It's at 2 in the afternoon. Details are at www.KeithUrban.net Lady Antebellum - Gold Country Music World The last week and a half or so has been golden for Lady Antebellum. Their single, "Need You Now," has been certified gold, along with their debut, "Love Don't Live Here." And, they've had a blast of sales following their performance and two wins on the CMAs. Their second album, "Need You Now," will be released January 26. Also in January, Lady A joins Tim McGraw on his "Southern Voice." Lee Ann Womack - To Join George Strait's Tour NASHVILLE, Tenn. George Strait and Reba McEntire will have some company when they tour next year. Lee Ann Womack is joining them. Womack says her big concern is "what to wear, because you can't out-starch George and you sure can't out-spangle Reba." The tour starts January 22 in Baltimore and ends April 10 in Des Moines. Sheryl Crow - Christmas Tree Lighting WASHINGTON When the national Christmas tree in Washington is lit next week, Sheryl Crow will be there. She'll be performing along with Ray LaMontagne and the rapper, Common. The lighting and concert will stream live on December 3 at www.thenationaltree.org. Then, it'll air on PBS stations starting December 4. Cma Awards Help Give Abc Best Ratings Week In A Year NEW YORK Twang, Taylor and Tim were good for ABC last week. The Country Music Association awards were watched by more than 17 million people. And, Robin Roberts' "In the Spotlight" with Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood and others, had a healthy audience.
