"They got $10,000 out one time, $12,000 the other time.” Postal Inspector Rodney Bohanon says it's an easy crime to pull off, but you have to have help from the inside. Armed with Paul's personal information, the identity thieves went to work. According to Paul, they opened joint accounts with his name, and theirs. They even got credit cards and a couple of drivers licenses, all in Paul's name, and Paul is just one of amny. According to Rodney Bohanon there were about 35 victims and more than a million dollars stolen. To avoid the pain and hassle, never put your bank or credit card information in the garbage or recycling bin. The suspects in this case are charged with bank fraud and are still awaiting sentencing.
