BEHIND THE KITCHEN DOOR
One of the biggest eating out weekends of the year is here. Mother's Day is Sunday and you know mom will be ticked if you take here to a place on our list. Let's get right to it.
RECENT KITCHEN DOORS OPENEDBennigan's over at the Town Center Mall tops our list. Inspectors found 9 violations including 3 critical. Inspectors said the potato warmer and the inside of the microwaver were dirty. They also found a roach, Bennigans had recently fogged for them. Several things were dirty. The can opener, one of the walls and the ice cream freezer all needed to be cleaned. Next we go to Porker's Bar B Que at 5130 West Washington Street in Cross Lanes. Inspectors found 9 violations, 2 critical. The pork ribs on the steam table were at an unsafe temperature and there were ant and roach insecticide stored on the grease trap. Porker's corrected those problems immediately. The exhaust fan wasn't working, the exhaust hood was dirty, so was the ceiling. Next up, Famous Daves over in Southridge. They had 11 violations, one was critical. The long ladle at the smoker rib table had gross food residue and there was mildew on one of the walls. We have some very good reports to tell you about. Two Shoney's makes our list, one in Charleston and another in Kanawha City. Also, Chuck E Cheese gets a big thumbs up. Don't forget you can get your first look at Behind the Kitchen Door Thursdays on Good Morning West Virginia. I'm Patrick McMurtry, I'll see you then. |
