BEHIND THE KITCHEN DOOR
I bet i'll see a lot of you this weekend out trying to get a head start on your holiday shopping. If you're going to be eating out, listen up, we have a couple of interesting reports for you this week. We start out at Los Agaves at 508 3rd Avenue in South Charleston. Inspectors found 12 violations, including 3 critical. An employee didn't wash his hands before touching clean dishes after he handled dirty dishes. There was cheese sauce stored at an unsafe temperature and an open drink in the food prep area. There wasn't any sanizier in the wiping cloth bucket and the oven hoods were dirty.
RECENT KITCHEN DOORS OPENEDNext, the Lone Star Steakhouse at 6515 MacCorkle Avenue in Charleston. Inspectors found 8 violations, including 1 critical. The salad cooler wasn't cold enough and the sour cream was at an improper temperature. The floor fan was dirty and serving utensils were stored in stagnant water. We do have a couple of good reports to bring you this week. Sitar of India did a good job, but Main Kwong over on Washington Street in Charleston was perfect.
