![]() Toddler Exercise
From toddlers, to teens, exercise is essentional. Children need to learn to exercise very early. It's a good habit to start.
Pediatrician Joe Matusic says, although kids are naturally active, families need to make time to get up and move. Dr. Joe Matusic, MD, Pediatrician Basically play with them. It should be a fun, family activity. We are the most obese state in the country and the most obese country in the world. Half of adults are obese, we just are not active enough. That activity can come in many forms. You just have to pick one that suits your family. Dr. Joe Matusic You need exercise on a daily basis and something fun. If you walk on a treadmill its boring you not going to stick with it. If you go to the gym you're not taking your kids so the more you do as family the more likely you are to keep it going. A local library is the backdrop for these pre-schoolers to get good lessons about exercise. And it's good quality time with mom (or their caregiver). So it's fun all around. They're using a teletubbies program to get up and get moving. The doctor says, not a bad idea to encorporate at home. As long as you're not using the tv as a babysitter. Dr. Matusic TV is a good educational tool, as long as it's used appropriately. And then that education can go a long way, to a happy, healthy, life.
