Abused and manipulated, Eyewitness News investigates human trafficking

One side of the raging drug epidemic that is rarely talked about is a multi-million dollar business that Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is calling modern day slavery.

In a two part story, Eyewitness News reporter Jessi Starkey investigates how addicts are being are becoming victims of human trafficking.

They can be picked up and trafficked across state lines and many of these cases are unfolding closer than you think.

On Monday and Tuesday, we sit down with victims to hear their stories and investigate just how common human trafficking is in our area.

The Department of Homeland Security says everyone has a role to play in combating human trafficking and has created the Blue Campaign, which aims to end it.
