Raw Video: West Virginians say farewell to Ken Hechler at funeral service

Friends, colleagues, political leaders and other West Virginians said their farewells Monday to Ken Hechler.

Visiting hours for the former congressman and secretary of state and funeral services were held at the West Virginia Culture Center.

Speakers at the service included U.S. Sens. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Secretary of State Natalie Tennant.

“Ken always put the interests of the people first,” Capito said.

Hechler died Dec. 10 in Romney at the age of 102.
