Tributes planned on 30th anniversary of Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy
Thursday is the 30th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy.
All seven crew members including high school teacher Christa McAuliffe died in that explosion.
On the morning of Jan. 28, 1986, a booster engine failed, causing the shuttle challenger to break apart just 73 seconds after launch.
NASA will also pay will tribute to the crews of Apollo 1 and Space Shuttle Columbia, and other NASA colleagues, during the agency's day of remembrance this morning.
