DeLorean making a comeback 35 years later
An iconic car is making a comeback.
The DeLorean is going back to the future and into production
"It's fantastic. It is a game changer for us," said Stephen Wynne, chief executive officer of DeLorean Motors. "We've been wanting this to happen."
The last time a DeLorean was built was about 35 years ago.
The company will build replica 1982 DeLoreans under a low volume manufacturing bill approved by the federal government. The company has enough supplies in stock to build about 300 cars and hopes to go from building one a month to one a week.
The company hope to have the first new DeLorean roll off of the production line early next year priced around $100,000.
