Two arrested after vehicle theft, arson in Roane County

Clendenin police said two people were arrested after a vehicle theft and arson in the Walton area Friday night.

At about 8:30 p.m. Friday, a vehicle was stolen on Ambler Ridge Road in the Walton area. Police said the victim's son chased the stolen vehicle into Kanawha County where they suspect, Deidre Pozzie was arrested by West Virginia State Police. and charged with grand larceny.

Police said during the incident, Pozzie's boyfriend, David Andrew White III set the victim's out building on fire causing about $8,000 worth of damage to the outbuilding and the victim's home. H was arrested Saturday morning.

After he was arrested, police said White confessed to the arson as well as stealing a Harley Davidson motorcycle on May 2.

In April, White was charged with grand larceny and felony fleeing after he was accused of stealing a Chevrolet Trailblazer that had been donated to a Clendenin family.

Both Pozzie and White are being held in the Central Regional Jail
