Son picks up on father's Eagle Scout project nearly 30 years later, gives it a touch-up
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
A father's Eagle Scout project is getting a touch-up nearly three decades later.
Jonathan Harper is adding on to an accessible walkway his father built in 1992 at Starcher Baptist Church in North Charleston.
Harper and his fellow Scouts are building a roof over the walkway as part of earning his Eagle Scout badge.
"It will provide a dry walkway for the elderly people of the church - just whoever is at the church. It will help them out,” Harper said.
Church leaders said it was a surprise that Harper wanted to create the addition to the walkway. They said they appreciate all of the hard work.
