Flying turkey crashes into windshield of semi, causing rig to overturn

Wayne County 911 said a turkey flew into the windshield of a semi on Route 52, causing the driver to lose control and overturn the rig.

The incident happened about 9 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Gragston Creek Road.

Dispatchers said the driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the turkey landed inside the rig. A video accompanying this story shows the turkey pacing inside the vehicle.

The truck landed on its side, and no other vehicles were involved.

One lane of Route 52 is closed, but they are letting traffic through.
