Ronald McDonald House of Southern West Virginia receives $20,000 donation
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Ronald McDonald House of Southern West Virginia got a big donation Monday from West Virginia American Water and Appalachian Power.
Representatives from the two companies presented a check for $20,000. The money is helping to complete the outdoor patio space at the new Ronald McDonald House in Charleston.
"To see the patio and on the river, who could ask for a better environment to try to let people relax a little bit?” said Brian Bruce, president of West Virginia American. “Get out of your room, instead of just coming back to your room and being stuck in there. Just to sit out there and have a little peace. I think it's just fabulous."
More than 10 million families with sick children have stayed at a Ronald McDonald house, saving them more than $120 million in housing and meal costs.
