Pursuit ends in deadly shootout on Charleston's West Side
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Charleston police said a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon after he fired at officers as a pursuit ended on Charleston's West Side.
Police said Rodney Toler, 39, of Charleston was shot and killed by police in the 500 block of Hunt Avenue after he jumped out of a vehicle and fired at officers.
Police said Toler led police on a pursuit that started in Dunbar after police there began chasing a suspect in a previous investigation.
Police said at some point, South Charleston police became involved in the pursuit as it went into Charleston and ended about 4:30 p.m. on Hunt Avenue.
No officers were injured.
No other information has been released at this time.
