Nicholas County man accused of breaking into City of Charleston garage

A Nicholas County man is facing multiple charges after he is accused of breaking into the City of Charleston’s garage.

Robert Thomas Williams, 27, of Belva is accused of breaking into the City of Charleston’s garage on Reynolds Street, where Charleston police officers park their cruisers, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

The complaint said Williams and a second suspects removed several items from the garage and hid them in a grey Jeep they were driving.

Williams is charged with transferring stolen property, petit larceny, breaking and entering, grand larceny and destruction of property. He is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on $25,000.
