New Charleston mural illustrates city's history
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
A new piece of art in Charleston illustrates part of the city's history. The large mural is of a streetcar stop and is located in the alley between Capitol and Hale Streets. Jesse Corlis painted the piece and says there's a reason for its unique look.
"It's more of a memory than it is capturing this corner of Capitol Street in 1910. That's why you see it fading out to the top and fading out to the end,” Corlis said.
Corlis says he spent more than 100 hours on the mural.
