Marshall and former Mid-American Conference rival, Kent State, will face off Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium and Eyewitness News will bring you all the action.

The Thundering Herd (1-1) and Golden Flashes (1-1) have played each other 36 times. Each time has won 18 games in the series. The former MAC rivals last met in 2015 when Marshall overcame a slow start to defeat Kent State 36-29 in double overtime.

This will be the first time Kent State has visited Huntington since 2003.

After a 31-26 win over Miami (OH) in week one, Marshall is coming off a 37-20 road loss to North Carolina State last week.

The Herd’s offense is led by quarterback Chase Litton, wide receiver Tyre Brady and tight end Ryan Yurachek.

After last week’s game, Litton has thrown a touchdown in 23 straight games, giving him the longest streak in the nation. Yurachek, one of Litton’s favorite targets, has caught a pass in 31 straight games. A streak that goes back to the tight end’s freshman season in 2014.

Brady, a transfer from the University of Miami, is coming off a record-setting performance against NC State. Brady caught 11 passes for 248 yards and a touchdown.

He set a new Carter-Finley Stadium record for receiving yards. Brady’s performance earned him Conference USA Player of the Week honors.

Marshall kicker Kaare Vedvik was named Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 44.5 yards on four punts and making 33 and 45-yard field goals.

The Golden Flashes opened the 2017 season against Clemson, the defending national champions, and fell 56-3. Last week, Kent State broke into the win column with a 38-31 victory over Howard University.

The Herd and Golden Flashes are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Stadium. Here is a full list of channels where you can watch the game:
