Man shot in face in Calhoun County; one man in custody
CALHOUN COUNTY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
West Virginia State Police said a man was shot in the mouth Thursday in Calhoun County, and a man is in custody.
The shooting was reported about 2:10 p.m. When troopers arrived in the community of Chloe, they found Scott Butler, 36, had been shot with a .22 rifle from about 75 yards away after a verbal altercation, State Police said.
State Police said Thomas W. Cain, 52, of Chloe is charged with attempted murder.
Butler’s injuries are described as non life-threatening. He was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital for treatment.
