Man charged with setting dog on fire
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
A man was charged with animal cruelty Thursday night after police said he set a small dog on fire. The dog weighed approximately 20 pounds.
Teddy Lee Estep, II of Charleston was arraigned Thursday night on a felony charge of animal cruelty.
Estep denied ever doing that to an animal but officers said the dog had severe burns on its body, scorched hair and blisters.
According to the criminal complaint, Estep’s arm hairs were singed around his wrists and officers said that was a clue that he had been around an open fire.
