MacCorkle Avenue reopens in Jefferson following two-vehicle crash

A section of MacCorkle Avenue has reopened after it was shut down for an extended period of time in Jefferson following a two-vehicle crash.

Dispatchers said all westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of MacCorkle Avenue Southwest are shut down near Dollar General in Jefferson following a T-bone crash. Crews on scene said two women had to be cut out of a Chevy Cavalier and said one was not breathing.

According to dispatchers, a van and car are involved and there were serious injuries.

The road reopened just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
