Jenkins, Morrisey, Blankenship receive most support in Fox News Poll
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Evan Jenkins, Patrick Morrisey and Don Blankenship all reached above the 10-percent mark in the Fox News Poll, and they can now debate May 1 in Morgantown.
Candidates in the six-member GOP field who received at least 10 percent support in the poll are eligible to participate in the debate. The poll was conducted April 18-22.
Jenkins, a U.S. House of Representatives member, led the field with 25 percent in the poll, while Morrisey, the West Virginia attorney general, had 21 percent and Blankenship, a former Massey Energy executive, received 16 percent.
Poll results showed Tom Willis with 4 percent, Bo Copley, 2 percent, and Jack Newbrough, 1 percent.
All six candidates participated in a debate Monday in Wheeling.
