Forum for Charleston City Council at-large candidates to be streamed live

Charleston Main Streets and WCHS-TV are partnering to host a candidate forum for at-large Charleston City Council candidates. The forum will be streamed live beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday. (Charleston Main Streets)

Charleston residents have a chance to see where City Council at-large candidates stand on the issues in a forum on Thursday, March 15, that will be streamed live.

Charleston Main Streets, the city’s urban economic development organization for the East End and West Side, is partnering with WCHS-TV to host the Face to Face Urban Development Candidate Forum.

Live coverage can be viewed beginning at 6 p.m. on the station’s Facebook and Twitter pages and in a player that will be embedded in this story. The event will be held at the Charleston Light Opera Guild on Tennessee Avenue.

The forum will feature 15 candidates seeking the six available at-large council seats, and they will be taking questions from the public to ask the candidates. If you have a question for the candidates, they may be submitted to

The race did have 16 candidates, but one of those candidates, Karan Ireland, a current member of City Council, has withdrawn from the race.
