Fayette County woman charged after two children found in home with deceased man

An Oak Hill woman was arrested following a child neglect investigation in Fayette County, according to deputies.

Charliegh Snodgrass, 31, is charged with gross child neglect creating the risk of serious injury after she was found unconscious in a home with a man who had fatally overdosed 4-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old girl, according to a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the release, deputies responded to a suspected drug overdose call at a home in the Shilo Mobile Home Court in Oak Hill. When they arrived, they found a man who had died from an apparent overdose. They also found Snodgrass, who was under the influence of Xanax and was unconscious, according to the release.

The 13-year-old girl was released to a family member. The 4-year-old girl was released to Child Protected Services.

Snodgrass was taken to the Southern Regional Jail and is being held on $5,000 bond.

The release said deputies are looking into other people who may have contributed to the male’s overdose. His identity has not been released.
