Friends of slain Charleston woman searching for answers
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Friends and family members of Talonnie Chambers are searching for answers.
Tuesday afternoon Charleston police were called to a home on Washington Street West where they found her body with a gunshot wound to her head.
"I can't even believe this is real life," Chambers' friend, Amanda Collins, said. "She was just everything. She was an amazing woman."
Officers told Eyewitness News that Chambers' mother was trying to make contact with her Tuesday. She went to the house and found her daughter's body lying on the floor.
"Detectives have several leads they are following up on," Lt. Autumn Davis said. "At this time, it is too premature to say any names."
Chambers' death has devastated her friends and family.
"We hung out all of the time," Collins said. "She knew all of my secrets. She was just a great friend and a great mom."
Collins said Chambers was full of life and always laughing. Many of her friends and family members want answers to their questions. Charleston police have not made any arrests. If anyone has information that could help detectives track down who is responsible, give them a call.
