Putnam County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Teays Valley business at gunpoint.

About midnight Sunday, Putnam deputies responded to a reported armed robbery at Kelly’s Hot Spot, Sheriff Steve Deweese said in a news release. The gambling parlor is located along Great Teays Boulevard.

The suspect entered the business and according to the clerks’ statement, the suspect was screaming “put your hands up” while pointing a gun at him, the release said. The suspect had the clerk place the money that was in the register in a white pillow case.

The suspect left on foot heading toward Gino’s restaurant, the release said.

The suspect is described by deputies as a white male wearing camouflage pants, a dark hooded sweatshirt and a black ski mask and was armed with a black semiautomatic pistol. Surveillance video was requested by deputies but could not be provided at the time of the report.
