Deputies investigating after man shot in stomach during argument
CHESAPEAKE, OHIO (WCHS/WVAH) —
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office in Ohio is investigating after a man was shot in the stomach following an argument.
Deputies said Daniel Lyons, 25, of Chesapeake was shot once in the stomach by a small caliber handgun, according to a news release.
Deputies said Lyons got into an argument with Brian Potter, 49, of Chesapeake about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Deputies said Lyons is dating Potter's daughter. Deputies said the two were arguing about a plumbing issue and Potter fired a handgun that struck Lyons in the abdomen.
Lyons was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center and his injury does not appear life-threatening.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing but there have been no arrests made in the shooting. Deputies said Potter was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
