Crime Stoppers, Fayette Commission offering rewards for information on unsolved cases

The Fayette County Commission and Crime Stoppers of West Virginia are offering cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminal suspects in Fayette County.

The Fayette County Commission voted Friday to establish a special fund to pay out cash reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions in criminal cases.

Crime Stoppers of West Virginia is currently focusing on three murder cases and two missing person’s cases at this time.

Joshua Monroe Dillon was murdered in his home in Pax sometime between October 10 and October 13, 2015, according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. According to the release, the murder is believed to be related to the manufacturing and delivery of methamphetamine.

The second case is the murder of Steven Skaggs and Stephanie Watters, who deputies said were killed in their home in the Victor on November 6, 2016. The release said their residence was burned in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime. The double-murder is believed to be drug-related.

The third case is a November 7, 2016 murder of Jeffrey Allen Morton. The release said Morton was murdered on top of Dempsey Mountain. His body was then placed in the trunk of a car, which was set on fire.

Crime Stoppers of West Virginia is also seeking information in two missing person’s cases.

Jasmine Michelle Cruz was reported missing from her Deep Water home on April 1, 2016. The release said investigators believe she is dead, but they have not been able to locate her body.

Georgia Melinda Stone was last seen at her home on Sanger Road in the Hilltop Area on December 5, 2016, according to the release. Investigators believe she is dead, but they have not been able to locate her body.
