Sunflower Cake From Chef Sara Moulton 1999 Good Morning America's Sara Moulton cooks up some great recipes for kids. Ingredients (A fun idea: divide the batter into bowls, one for each child, and put out a tray of goodies, such as raisins, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, and dried cranberries and apricots. Let the kids go wild by adding as many or as few of these as they want to their custom cookie batches).
Directions 1. Place the round cake in the center of a serving dish and frost the top and sides with yellow icing. Then top with mini Hershey Kisses (or other small chocolates) to create sunflower "seeds." 2. Start in the center and work in circles to the outer edge. For petals, frost the Twinkies individually and place them along the outer edge of the cake. Serves 8 to 10. Recipe copyright©1999 Sara Moulton.
