Huntington, WV (WCHS, WVAH) —
It could be said that the Appalachian region is the melting pot where the real roots of country, rock and jazz were born. Within the coal fields people from all over the world merged for the opportunity that America offered in those days and from that, the mix of European and African influences collided and there you have it, most of what we know as rock, country and the blues was set in motion. One instrument has been included in pretty much all those forms of music. Well, of course, the guitar, but an unsung hero is the harmonica and recently a band of harmonica enthusiasts set off to hone their skills playing the Tin Sandwich.
