High school graduations right around the corner

As the calendar turns to May, high school and college seniors will be counting down the days until they can turn their tassels at their graduations.

In Kanawha County, the first graduation will be held on Thursday, May 17. Here is a full list of Kanawha County commencement ceremonies:

George Washington - 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17, Charleston Municipal Auditorium

St. Albans - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, Charleston Civic Center

Sissonville - 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, Charleston Municipal Auditorium

Riverside - 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, Charleston Civic Center

Nitro – 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, Charleston Municipal Auditorium

South Charleston – 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, Charleston Civic Center

Herbert Hoover – 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, Charleston Municipal Auditorium

Capital – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, Charleston Civic Center

Putnam County’s graduation ceremonies will begin on May 22. Here is a full list of Putnam County high school graduations:

Winfield – 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, Charleston Civic Center

Buffalo – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, Buffalo High School

Poca – 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24, Charleston Civic Center

Hurricane – 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, Charleston Civic Center

In Cabell Midland, both Cabell Midland and Huntington High will have hold their graduations at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena:

Huntington – 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, Big Sandy Superstore Arena

Cabell Midland – 6 p.m. Friday, May 25, Big Sandy Superstore Arena.

Below is a full list of West Virginia high school graduation dates:

In Huntington, Marshall University will hold its associates and bachelor’s degree ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. Marshall’s master’s and doctoral commencement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.

The University of Charleston will have a week full of ceremonies and celebrations leading up to its commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 6. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on the UC Riverbank Lawn.

West Virginia State University will hold its graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the D. Stephen and Diane H. Walker Convocation Center on the school’s campus.

West Virginia University’s graduation ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 11 with the ceremony for the Reed College of Media at the WVU Coliseum. Ceremonies will last through the weekend and will conclude with the Elberly College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate program on Sunday, May 13 at 4 p.m.
