Putnam deputies: Man sexually abused girls at sleepover
PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
A Scott Depot man is facing charges after Putnam County deputies said he sexually abused girls at a sleepover.
David Eugene Taylor of Scott Depot was charged Wednesday with first-degree sexual abuse, according to a criminal complaint filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court.
Deputies said they received a report in August from a victim, who was 14 at the time. The criminal complaint said she and three other girls stayed the night in a spare bedroom at a neighbor's house in Scott Depot. She told deputies she woke up to Taylor touching her inappropriately on top of her clothing. She said when she appeared to be waking up, Taylor quickly left the bedroom and re-entered, asking why she was sleeping on the floor, the complaint said.
Investigators said they talked to other girls who claimed to have also been touched by him or witnessed him doing it to others.
Taylor was arrested by the Putnam County Special Enforcement Unit and held in jail on a $30,000 bond but has since made bail.
