Friday night's Live on the Levee concert moved to Municipal Auditorium

City officials say Friday night's Moses Auto Group Live on the Levee has been moved to Charleston Municipal Auditorium. Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., shown in this file phone, will be the headliner. (WCHS/WVAH)

Live on the Levee will be Live in Municipal Auditorium Friday night.

With most of the region expecting heavy rain to move into the area, city officials announced the concert will be moved from the Schoenbaum Stage to the indoor venue.

Landau Eugene Murphy will be the headline performer and is expected to take the stage about 7:45 p.m. Murphy appeared on Eyewitness News at Noon Thursday to talk about his upcoming performance. You can watch it on the player below.

The West Virginia native gained fame winning “America’s Got Talent” in 2010 and singing his interpretation of classic singers such as Frank Sinatra and belting out some of their hits such as Sinatra’s “My Way.”

Local group the Carpenter Ants will get the music started about 6:30 p.m.

Live on the Levee is the capital city’s free summer concert series that begins in May and runs through Labor Day.
