Cabell County medical organizations partnering to improve health care for Medicaid patient
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) —
Three medical organizations in Cabell County are joining forces to improve the access to health care for Tri-State Medicaid patients.
Marshall Health, Huntington Internal Medicine Group and Cabell-Huntington Hospital have formed MHC Accountable Care organization.
The three groups announced the partnership Thursday morning.
Organizers said the partnership will mean a higher coordination of care for patients to better meet their specific needs and guard against repeating services and medical tests.
“These three organizations coming together can do that more effectively, so a patient has more efficient time frame while in health care,” Kevin Fowler, president and CEO of Cabell-Huntington Hospital said. “They are not duplicating efforts and a lot of coordinating efforts so we are not repeating things we don't have to repeat.”
Fowler said the partnership will save money for both the medical organization and the patient.
