Kanawha County students practice shelter in place drill
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
Students and staff members in Kanawha County will be practicing an emergency drill Thursday morning in order to be better prepared.
The shelter in place drill starts at 9 a.m.
Students will be moved to the interiors of their schools, with windows taped up and doors sealed.
The drill mimics what would happen in the case of a chemical leak or air-born emergency.
Thursday's drill was scheduled in conjunction with National Preparedness Month.
