HOOVERPALOOZA to raise money for Herbert Hoover High School programs
CHARLESTON, WV (WCHS/WVAH) —
Live music, a silent auction and food will be featured in a community fundraising event in Charleston that will raise funds for Herbert Hoover High School athletic teams, music programs and student organizations.
HOOVERPALOOZA is scheduled 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at University of Charleston Stadium’s Laidley Field, according to a news release from organizers. The event is being hosted by the Herbert Hoover Red and Blue Booster Club and partners throughout the Kanawha Valley.
“We want to give back and do something for our student athletes, band, show choir and school clubs,” said Beth Strawn, president of Hoover’s Booster Club. “Our extracurricular activities bring joy to our students and this fundraiser will help those students replace lost equipment, materials or whatever related item they need to succeed in their respective activity.”
Live entertainment will be provided by the Audio Outlaws, Joe Hunt Project and a couple of surprise musical acts. A silent auction will include autographed sports memorabilia, West Virginia University and Marshall sporting event tickets, travel destinations, gift certificates and theme baskets.
Tickets are available in advance here or may be purchased at the door. Admission is $10 per person. Children 10 and under will be admitted free. Group tickets also are available.
