Will Lyman Will Lyman's experience in New York theatre includes roles in "The Dwarfs," "The Passion of Dracula" at the Cherry Lane Theatre; "The Grinding Machine" at the American Place; Howard Fast's "The Novelist" on Theatre Row; and a production of Leon Uris' six-hour adaptation of his novel, Trinity, at a Broadway Workshop. A few of his roles in regional theatre are Dysart in "Equus," Valmont in "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," John Proctor in "The Crucible," both men in "Pinter's Betrayal," Oberon in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Ivan in "Every Good Boy Deserves Favor," with the Cleveland Symphony. And with the fast-rising Commonwealth Shakespeare Company he has played Brutus in "Julius Caesar" and Prospero in "The Tempest."

Lyman's acting credits in film include "Welcome to the Dollhouse," "Hostile Takeover," "A Perfect Murder," "The Siege," "The Crucible," "Celtic Pride" and the prize-winning shorts "Intermezzo" and "Dog Days." He wrote and directed the short film "Leaving the Post," and co-directed and wrote "Soul of an Empire," about the redevelopment of Times Square. His third film, "The Pink Satin Suit," made in collaboration with his wife, Anastasia, celebrates the life of noted New Orleans photog-philosopher Johnny Donnels and premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival last October.

On television Lyman has played starring roles in "Hull High" and "The Adventures of William Tell." He has also starred in such miniseries as "Three Sovereigns for Sarah," with Vanessa Redgrave, and was featured in "George Washington," starring Barry Bostwick. He has made guest-starring appearances in "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Ed," "Law & Order," "Murder, She Wrote," "Spencer for Hire" and "Mann & Machine."

A nationally acclaimed documentary narrator, Lyman has acted as the series narrator for "Frontline" since its second season, as well as for many Emmy, DuPont-Columbia and Peabody Award-winning programs. In 1990 he narrated a treatment of Eisenstein's unproduced film, "Ivan the Terrible," to Sergei Prokofiev's film score performed by the National Symphony, under the direction of Mstislav Rostropovich at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Lyman currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
